An app to make aircraft taxiing safer
Researching and prototyping a cockpit-integrated airport moving map to improve taxiing safety and situational awareness.
Airbus had consolidated an extensive database of 2D and 3D airport and terrain data, and its first product application was an airport mapping tool for the cockpit. Working in a Scrum team, I defined the project’s early UX research protocols, ran interviews and field studies with pilots and HMI engineers, and prototyped early-stage interfaces for testing.
The work contributed to a patent for optimised aircraft taxiing path operations.
